Student productions in the Department of Precision Engineering  covers a wide range of productions from classical manufacturing to the cutting-edge technology. Here we show four moving products from student productions in 2019.

Strandbeest bicycle (Yang Dongxu):
A miniature bicycle based on the kinematic of the strandbeest. Single axis rotation moves its legs as if an animal is walking.

Automaton of stairs (Yuki Takemoto):
When you rotate the handle on the side, the marbles go up around the stairs. This automaton uses a cam mechanism.

Tea-serving doll (Tomoki Chada):
A replica of tea-serving dolls developed in Edo period. When you wind the spring and put a cup on its tray, it starts walking.

Semi-regular polyhedron with deformation (Akihiro Kamono):
A rhombicosidodecahedron and two semi-regular polyhedra. The surface of rhombicosidodecahedron can be deformed.
