Micrometer/nanometer-sized channels are fabricated on a glass substrate, and various chemical processes are performed in the channels.
For example, a micro immunoassay device, a single cell analysis device and so on have been developed.
In a micro immunoassay device, blood test, which conventionally needs a milliliter blood sample, can be performed using only a drop of blood. In a single cell analysis device, only a living single cell can be analyzed, although conventional cell analysis needs a million cells.
Therefore, Micro/Nano Chemical Fluidic Devices are useful tools for disease diagnosis and determination of the cause of disease, and they are utilized in various fields such as biology, medicine and so on.
